the keyboard
Never missing a beat
They fly over the keys
Not knowing where they'll go next
Always trying to please ears
Playing Mozarts and Beethovens
Hours and hours of practice to make perfect
Training his fingers to hit their marks
Sometimes choosing one chord over another
He must think
If he makes a mistake with his black felt pen
There is no going back
His mistake may turn out good, maybe bad
Whatever the outcome he must play on
He plays with emotion
His feelings shown through fingers
His heart through his hands
The concert pianist plays with this soul
Trying to reach out to others through his
music
Whether or not he reaches them he never
knows
